Introduction:
somatics

What we will be doing during a somatic healing session (somatic/yoga/breathwork) is healing at the level of your body.

Somatic — means “from the body”. We heal from a body-based approach — healing on the nervous system level.
Breathwork — is a modality that falls under the umbrella of somatic healing. It is a body-based healing tool. Breathwork allows the opening into our sensations & emotions. It an excellent tool we use to repattern and rewire our nervous system to come into safety.

I am a somatic facilitator that is trained in somatics, yoga, and breathwork. I help you learn somatics to heal on a nervous system level.

I will start our class by explaining everything you will need to know (outline, what to expect, breath pattern, ect) so you will have all the information to be able to fully drop into your practice.

What to Bring:

  • Wear comfortable clothes

  • Yoga mat (or space to lay down)

  • Glass of water

  • Pillow (for shaking / noise release)

  • Blanket (optional, for comfort in Savasana)

  • Eye Mask (Alchemical Breathwork Only)

> Please create a safe private space that feels supportive to move, noise, and shake in.

> Let housemates/partners know you may be making sound—breath, shaking, and expression. Letting them know will allow you to feel safe to express as much as needed when you drop into your practice. Something like "hey - I have this yoga/somatic practice and Katie said there may be some noises and shaking. So just to let you know." :)

Class Outline

For Yoga/Breathwork Class:
we’ll move through a kundalini yoga set, breathwork, and savasana meditation. This sequence is designed to create safety, release stored energy, and reconnect you back to your essence.

For Alchemical Breathwork:
we'll dive into a deep breathwork practice, optional movement, and savasana meditation at the end.

You can expect:

  • Start with with a grounding meditation to tap into safety.

  • Active part of class: I will be guiding you through a breathwork, movement and/or cathartic release (Somatic release through shaking, sound, and emotional expression)

  • Specific Breath Pattern: I explain the breath pattern (3-part breath, halo breath, gentle breath, ect) + physical sensations + modifications to go slower and listen to your body + unconditional welcoming of emotions

  • Cathartic release through shaking, sound, and emotional expression

  • End with deep rest and integration in Savasana

About the Class

  • Accessing Safety: sensorial & ground.

  • 3 Alchemy: movement, breath, and noise = your three best friends (contraction>flow of life force)

  • Unconditional Welcoming

  • Composting. – mad/sad/fear. (calcification / breaking up) that harden – and we are clearing it.

  • What is, is the portal (whatever is showing up for you at the moment, is the doorway)

  • Cathartic release helps compost layers of charge contributing to freeze and dissociation. I will guide specific poses that open meridians in your body that hold specific emotions (tantrum, anger pillow pounding, pillow screaming, hand screaming, grieving ritual / wailing, pillow trusting (prone & bridge), fetal freeze, power stomping.)

  • intensity doesn’t equate to transformation.

  • You listen to your body. You are your own highest authority. (If I’m cueing > I know that your listening to your body > and that is exactly right.)

  • Numb / Dissociation. Turning on the facet.

  • Deep rest and integration in Savasana

I will explain everything as we move through the practice. This is a safe space to follow my cues, but always honor your body. Whether you fully follow along, modify, or pause—you’re doing it exactly right.

Class Intention

Safety & Trust in Essence
We’ll soften the veil between mind and body, compost stuck emotions, and create space for what wants to move and be seen. So that at the end of practice you will have more space in your body, more essence and feel like more of yourself is online.
